All of nurses have very good because I am a needy person. Talking to me and assuring everything is fine. The experience is intense the nurses make the experience a lot easier.

Review of Urology Cancer written by a patient

Very impressed with the speed of the actions taken following my referral. The period of time between my seeing a Consultant, having an MRI Scan followed by a Ultrasound/biopsy was a total of 8 days. I received feedback from the biopsy 7 days later at which point the options for my future treatment were clearly explained.

Waiting system could be improved....have to take a numbered ticket to see receptionist......most people go straight to reception, then have to go back and take a ticket, then go back to reception when number is called !

Review of Breast Cancer written by a family member

I have had very positve exerienceof the service. On my first day of attendance ,the Cosultant took into account my neurological problem and ensured that all investigations were completed on the day to save from going home and then come back again. On the day of surgery, all the staff were very caring and supportive.

I was referred to Croydon University Hospital by my Gp following an increasing lymphocyte count over the past year. My care has been of the highest standards by both consultant and Nurse consultant that i have seen over the past 6 months. I can not thank them enough for the speedy investigations including Bone marrow biopsy and CT scan that were arranged and the following consultations with Royal Marsden Hospital. From my first appointment i have been fully kept up to date and involved in ongoing clinical decisions and have received all documentation in the post regards my care. The Consultant Nurse who seems constantly on the go yet seems to have a permanent smile on her face has been very informative in helping me to understand my diagnosis and sending me information on my diagnosis via email. She has also shown great compassion and been very supportive during what has been a difficult time for me with the passing of my wife with cancer during this time. The staff have all been welcoming and pleasant and when appointments have been slightly delayed i was kept informed of this. As a health care professional myself I can genuinely say that I would have no hesitation in recommending this service to all.

I have been admitted to Mayday on more than one occasion. Their A&E department is under extreme pressure and it shows in the long waiting times, and drop in standards of care for the patients. Also there were very low hygiene levels. A lottery of care from ward to ward. Some Nurses gave v.poor treatment in certain wards e.g. Queens Ward. Some doctors are informative, but others haven't the time to explain your treatment fully. Everything was rushed and one felt that ones bed was needed for the next patient, before you are fully recovered. In the end, I couldn't wait to leave the awful experience behind me.

Took my son with an injured ankle first thing on a Thursday morning. Relatively short wait before being seen and sent to X-ray. Smooth transition from X-ray to review by the doctor and advice given. Very friendly and courteous at all times.
